The first step is to understand what the double push is, and the best way to do that is to stare at inline skaters where the technique originated. Inline guru Ed Matzger shows off his double push below, with some explanatory comments. (Eddy also offers an inline skate clinic if you want to learn it on inlines first. Go to his web site at http://skatecentral.com/ for more info). Notice that the as the right leg pushes to the right, the left leg ALSO pushes to the left! The right leg finishes and lifts while the left foot starts turning the other direction and rolls back under the body to the left. (If it didn't, Eddy would simply fall, since both feet are to the right of his center of gravity).
